Towards the end of the movie, the lead character Brian Cohen has been sentenced to death by crucifixion for his part in a kidnap plot. After a succession of apparent rescue opportunities all come to nothing, a character on a nearby cross -- played by Eric Idle, who wrote this tune -- attempts to cheer him up by singing "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life". The other 140 crucified men join along (!). This surreal scene alone makes the movie worth watching. This original (sort) of barbershop arrangement humbly tries to stay in the upbeat spirit of the original, minus some of the rather dark British humor. Some of the melodic line was borrowed from Garfunkel's version of the song as well. I hope you'll enjoy!
